What We Believe

Grace Fellowship Church Statement of Faith

The Godhead: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

God the Father: We believe in God the Father, the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth. He is eternal, sovereign, holy, loving and just (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 135:6; Romans 11:36)

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, that he died for our sins and rose from the dead, that he is the only way to salvation, that he is now exalted at the right hand of God and intercedes for us as our Great High Priest. (John 1:2, 14, 14:6; Ephesians 1:20-21; 1Timothy 2:5).

Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is God, equal with the Father and the Son and dwells in every believer. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, empowers us to live victoriously and gives the same gifts as He did to the early Church for the common good. (Acts 1:8; Romans 12:6-8; John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12-14)

Scripture: We believe that the Old and New Testaments are God-breathed and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (Psalm 119:89; 2 Tim 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)

Sin: We believe that man was created in the image of God to be holy and to enjoy fellowship with Him, that Adam sinned, which brought not only physical death but also spiritual death upon all mankind. (Genesis 2:15-16, Genesis 3; Romans 3:23, 5:12-14)

Salvation: We believe that eternal salvation is the free, unmerited gift of God, that all who repent of their sins, believe the Gospel, and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior by faith are saved and can be assured of their salvation from the moment they believe. (John 3:3-5, 10:28; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5)

The Church: We believe the Church consists of all those who, by faith, have trusted in Jesus for their salvation. God has called believers in various places to join together into local churches to bring the visible expression of the love, life and power of Jesus to a lost and dying world. (1 Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Peter 2:5-10; Hebrews 10:25).

Ordinances: We believe Jesus Christ commands that we practice baptism in water by immersion (Mt 28:19; Acts 8:38; Romans 6:3-4) and the Lord’s Supper/Communion (Lk 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29) as outward signs of an inward, gracious work of God received by faith.

The Second Coming: We believe that Jesus Christ will visibly and personally return in the air for His people. (Matthew 24:30-31; Acts 1:11; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 22:20).

Final Judgment and the Eternal State: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just unto everlasting blessedness in God’s presence and the unjust unto everlasting punishment separated from God’s presence. (Mt 25:31-46; John 5:28-29)
